Epenetus of Carthage

One of the Seventy Apostles and a disciple of the Savior, Epenetus was made bishop at Carthage, establishing one of the earliest episcopal sees in North Africa and considered a foundational figure in North African Christianity. In his Epistle to the Romans, the Apostle Paul greets Epenetus as ’the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ’ (Rom. 16:5).
